Calgary homebuilders are on the leading edge of the industry due to innovation and developing new technologies.  That is why Thiessen Enterprises stays involved in various levels of the building industry leadership.  Marvin Thiessen has participated in various initiatives designed to improve the cribbing profession.

The company was one of the first Cribbing Contractors to institute a full safety program. Marv has worked directly with SAIT to provide input into cribbing training programs.  The industry is moving towards implementing a two year certificate that will recognize cribbing as separate trade.  SAIT currently offers an independent module within the Journeyman Carpentry program.

Centre of Excellence
Marv is a member of the Centre of Excellence. He serves on a board subcommittee and has helped develop a strategy to implement trade fairs in high schools. Marv was involved in the development of the SAIT training program, a joint SAIT/Center of Excellence venture.  The Centre is a non-profit association representing professional homebuilders, land development companies, suppliers, and trade contractors.  Excellence is in high demand, and there's no better place to find it than in Calgary's home building industry. The Centre of Excellence has recognized him with their “Industry Hero” award.
